Vein Center Houston was created to address the needs of patients with varicose and spider veins.

Our commitment is to provide efficient, cost effective, affordable treatment, using the most modern techniques. We strive to maintain complete patient satisfaction by treating the cause of the problems as well as the symptoms. We wish to provide a way for our patients to be comfortable with their appearance and symptom free.

Dr. Mario O. Kapusta completed his training in General Surgery at the University of Texas, Houston, and in Cardiovascular Surgery at the Texas Heart Institute, Houston. He brings over 20 years of experience to the treatment of patients with diseases of the veins, arteries, heart and lungs. He is Certified by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Thoracic Surgery. Dr. Kapusta is the first physician in Houston certified by the American Board of Phlebology.

He is a member of the American College of Phlebology, the American College of Surgeons and the Society of Thoracic Surgeons.

His knowledge and experience in Ultrasonography is recognized through certification by Cardiovascular Credentialing International as a Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) and Registered Phlebology Specialist (RPh) and by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography as a Registered Physician in Vascular Interpretation (RPVI).

He is an Associate Clinical Professor of Surgery at the University of Texas Medical School at Houston.

Dr. Kapusta's authored and co-authored work includes publishings in the The Annals of Thoracic Surgery, in addition to citings of his work in Archives of Surgery and The Journal of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery.

Rachel Enriquez, a Certified Medical Assistant and the Administrative Manager has been instrumental in the development of Vein Center Houston. Rachel has been involved in health care since 1983 and as part of Dr. Kapusta's team since 1993. She is in charge of scheduling, credentialing, bookkeeping, and assisting in surgical procedures. Rachel ensures a smooth operation of the practice.

Rachel is a native Houstonian, the mother of three beautiful children and proud grandmother of three granddaughters.

Gloria is a Certified Medical Assistant. She manages the back office with precision and professionalism. Assist Dr. Kapusta in medical and cosmetic procedures. Gloria also provides direct patient care, and enjoys making them feel comfortable while they are in her care.

Gloria is a wife and mother of two girls.

Alejandra is our Insurance-Benefits and Claims coordinator. She is a native Houstonian and is fluent in Spanish. She handles scheduling, all insurance information and serves as a patient advocate.

Alejandra is a mother of a boy and girl and enjoys spending time with them.
